The Treatments

Reflexology

Reflexology is known to be more than 400 years old. Paintings discovered in the Physicians' Tomb at Saqqora, Egypt dating back to 2,300 B.C. show an actual reflexology treatment in progress. Reflexology is a completely safe form of therapy as well as being a very relaxing and pleasant experience.

The purpose of a course of treatment is to normalise the body's functioning, to help break down tension and alleviate stress and to improve nerve functioning and blood supply throughout the body. Reflexology can help to control pain by stimulating the release of endomorphines - the body's natural painkillers from the pituitary gland in the brain into the blood stream.

Eastern Head Massage

This is a simple, very relaxing, safe and highly beneficial therapy which has been popular throughout the Indian Sub-Continent for over a thousand years. It involves the massage of the scalp, face, neck and shoulders. This soothes, comforts and rebalances the energy flow to produce a feeling of peace and tranquility.

Reiki

Reiki - pronounced ray-key - is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy - a force which runs through all living things.

It is believed that the technique was first used by Tibetan Buddhist monks thousands of years ago and was rediscovered in the 1800s by Mitrao Usui. The treatment harmonises and balances the body's energy by allowing it to flow freely and, therefore, enabling the body's own healing system to function more effectively.

Body Massage

The art of massage is probably as old as man himself, because to hold or rub an injured part is a reaction to the pain involved. We know from ancient writings that the Chinese had a system of massage at least 5,000 years ago - as did the Hindis, the Japanese and just a little nearer our time the Egyptians.

Thermotherapy for Ear and Head (Hopi Ear Candles)

This is an ancient form of treatment that was used by the North American Hopi Indians. The Candles,which are cylindrical with hollow centres,are made of natural substances such as honey,beeswax and medicinal herbs.They are lit and inserted in the ear and are used both to cleanse the ear and also to regulate the pressure system inthe inner ear and head. The treatment can be used on many conditions including;

WAXY EARS • GLUE EAR • HEADACHES • MIGRAINES • RHINITS • SINUSITIS • SNORING • STRESS • TINNITUS • FLYING AND DIVING PROBLEMS

The treatment is soothing, painless and relaxing and includes a full face and neck massage. The whole treatment takes approximately one hour.

Hot and Cold Stone Massage

The treatment involves the use of hot and cold stones to areas of the body, giving a deep massage and creating a sensation of warmth and comfort.

The heat from the stones improves circulation, relaxes muscles, eases pain, removes tension, helps detox, reduces stress and fatigue.

Cold stones refresh and stimulate the mind, ease congestion, reduce inflammation and soothes irritation.
